...OH WHAT A NIGHT...
Well can you beleive that at this time last night I was laying in a hopital bed next to Sophie, how things can change in a matter of 24 hours... what started out as fun turned in one sore little girl & it all started like this... oldest DD had a friend over for the night & they were out the front filling up water bombs and playing games & during this time my brother-in-law turns up so we went inside for a chat - now I was thinking that they were just playing water bombs, but Tahlia's friend got Tahlia's electric scooter out and decided to go for a ride which was fine but it's when she asked Sophie to hop on for a double that the disaster started, & we have told the girls over & over that this is not allowed so they all felt doubly bad when it all happened but thank God it could have been alot worse & there were no broken bones or teeth knocked out - the freind got up speed & then lost control and they stacked it & the bigger girl fell onto Sophie who banged her head pretty hard on the concrete the other good thing is that all our street is concrete so her grazes weren't as bad as they could have been if it had been bitemen! So in comes Soph with blood pouring out her nose & one enourmous egg on her head, I stayed calm until she started vomiting & her eyes started rolling back in her head so we headed straight to the hospital were they admitted her & kept her in for observation for the night & she just keep vomitting which was not very nice (especially when the poor darling says: Mummy I don't like it when it comes out my nose) so I was glad that they kept her in just to keep an eye on her which meant 3 hourly ob's and when it was morning she said to me Mummy that was such a long night & how come they had to keep checking me, but PRAISE GOD there was no signs of any other problems & now just needs some very good sleep to recover which she is doing very quickly & has been eating constantly since we got home...
I sure do hope that the rest of the school holidays are a little less eventful than the last 2 days that I have had, I think I will take the girls to see HAIRSPRAY tomorrow as it's cheap day (anyone seen it? I've only heard good reports!) & then I think we are going to go camping for a few days when Steve gets home later in the week but apart from that I think I am going to make the rest of this week relatively quite.Saturday, September 22, 2007
OH MY...
Look what I had at my back door this afternoon!!!!!!!!!!! Why do these things always seem to happen to me when my hubby is away, the kids had not long come in from playing outside on the tramp when the dog kept barking and barking which he usually does when the kids hide his toy bone that he is totally obsessed with so I went to the back door and this is what greeted me!!! I nearly wet my pants - luckly I had a male friend that was here with his kids for a visit & he imformed me that it was a carpet snake but he is also petrified of snakes & I think he was more scared than me LOL, now I think any snake is a dead snake whether it's venomous or not but there was no way either one of us was getting near it - so we called up the snake man & he came to the RESCUE... thank goodness - so all up we had 5 squealing children & 2 whossie adults but I will definately sleep better tonight knowing that its not still outside somewhere!!

...CREATE...
Lately I have been creating a few scrapbooking pages, very simple one's but at least they are getting done so I thought I would share. I have been trying set aside a Wednesday that I get together & scrap with a couple of friends and normally I am very non-productive but this week I was very pleased with how much I achieved. It's been another busy week - I can't believe how fast the weeks are going before we know it it's going to be Christmas. To start of my week this week we had a bit of an event on Monday - after Steve took the girls out horse riding on Sunday they came home and on the way home in the car Madison was scratching her belly and just above her belly button she has a little scrub TICK so Steve pulled it out (I don't like things like that, I'm scratching now just typing) and told them to get in the shower and check there warm spots to see if they had any more, Sophie had on just above her ear so we got that out and that was that, but later that night Sophie woke asking me to put cream on the bite cause it was itchy but she was pointing to the other side of her ear, so at midnight I turn the light on only to find this teeny tiny tick, I got Steve up and got him to get in out except it was so tiny he got the body off but the head was still in there AGGHH so we rang the hospital to see what we should do and they said just leave it and take her to your GP in the morning, so we made and appointment and Steve took her - Thank God cause they had to give her a local anisetic and cut/scrape it out (BLAHHH) Steve said she was so brave so that's it for horse riding I think LOL. Been doing the everyday running the kids around after school to and from there dancing classes, I also got to catch up with my Aunty that I haven't seen in about 3 months it was so good to sit and chat and catch up with her. Got our poodle clipped this week, it's the first time we have had him professionally done and he looks so good, normally it takes us about 2 days to trim him where as they had him done in 2 HOURS! He looks so skinny now with all his fur gone. Tahlia is at Youth tonight doing a HIP HOP Class which looked very fun and we now have a very busy weekend with Madison having a sleepover at her friends house tomorrow night, going to another friends boys 13th Birthday with the other 2 tomorrow afternoon and then going Ten Pin Bowling, going to Church on Sunday and then catching up with another friend for lunch on Sunday then it's back to Monday again and it will be another week gone - so I hope you are having a great weekend whatever you are doing.Sunday, August 19, 2007

A DAY OUT...
We had a fabulous day out a couple of weekends ago and I have just gotten around to sharing some of the shots that I captured with my new toy, I had lots of fun experimenting with it and I have still so much to learn with shadows, lighting and all the technical stuff, this camera has so many functions on it that I don't think I will fully understand them all, but I must say it takes a absolutly fantastic photo so much better than my little Kodak digital camera, I think every time I get the camera's out the kids go NO, NO PLEASE NO MORE PHOTO'S LOL - but guess what - too bad Mum says and away I keep snapping - the beauty of the digital camera is that little delete button when it's not so good, I am in love all over again and guess where I am going tomorrow to get lots of photo's printed from - Harvey Norman has a special on at the moment for 15c and hopefully I will get my finger out and get something scrapped LOL (don't faint) it's been so long and everytime I think about it I just don't have it in me at the moment - anyone else ever feel like that? I hope my MOJO returns soon, but I will be well equiped with lots of photo's when it does return. Off to get some beauty sleep. Night Night.

WHAT A MORNING!

GUESS WHAT I GOT?
I am so excited that I can't wait to take some photo's. I've been wanting to get one of theres cameras for a while and lovely hubby said I could get one (doing a happy dance here). I've only been able to have a little play with it yet & it is a little different to operate than my little point and shoot digital camera, and as it's been raining here for the past couple of days haven't been able to venture outside, but this morning it was nice & sunny and I said to the girls that I was going to take them to some spots to get some piccies and all my subjects declined the invitation and wouldn't be apart of it (it seemed that playing with there friends was far more important than there Mum getting photo's - I couldn't beleive it!) so now I will just have to read the book abit more and try and learn some of the features (it has so many buttons). Well I have been sitting here trying to add some photo's and this Blogger won't let me, so I am off to my nice warm bed. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.Raech :o)

Beauty...
Dove has taken it upon themselves to try and redress the balance...
they start the ad with a statement...
"Only 1 percent of Australian women describe themselves as looking beautiful while 30 percent of Australian women describe themselves as average looking."
PLEASE!!!!! Tell me this isnt true.
really.. this statement makes my heart ache.
Not beautiful???? YOU?????
You are, you know.
and this is why I love this campaign.. because it is all about enabling women , and girls to see how "beautiful women come in all different shapes colours and sizes," and ages too.
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.
BELEIVE IT.

I was reading this over at Ngaire Bartlam's Blog and thought I would share as it is so true and I thought it was really special...

I've been TAGGED!!!
Name three things that scare you. Fast rides that go backwards (it makes me sick just thinking about it), snakes (any snake is a dead snake to me), Canetoads (they are just so ugly and ewww)
The daggiest thing in your music collection. Ummm THE WIGGLES (but it's the kids)
Your three favourite clothing items. Denim Cargo Shorts, my hide my spare tire tummy magic T-Shirts (lol well I think they are magic anyway) & my seam free undies (do they count as a clothing item - no I don't think so), my Pink Panther jammies!!!
Your partners most annoying habit. Oh he has lots of annoying habits, but let me say I think he has far more good qualities that out number the bad ones (love you baby - most of the time LOL) but his most annoying habit to me would have to be since he was bought up in a very proper house he is always onto the children about little things that I don't even realise like chewing with there mouth open, chewing chewing gum, shutting doors so fly's don't come in the house, crunching apples when eating them, crunching ice when eating it........ do you get the picture.
What stresses you out. I try not to stress out about the kids but I do every now and again, driving in the passenger seat with my husband I feel much safer when I am in control and at least I know I keep my eyes on the road where as he looks every other place but the road, childrens birthday parties LOL especially the sleep over ones with 6 hyperactive girls that won't go to SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!
If I could change the world I would hmmmmm... make it so there was no povety in the whole world - that everyone could be as priveledged to live in such a wonderful country like we live in Australia.
Your favourite household chore…. I hate housework especially when the kids can mess it all up in a matter of about 10 minutes, I relly have to get in the mood for housework but since I got all my new ENJO products I have been a cleaning machine and my house is sparkling!!
If you had fifty bucks to spend at Target which section would you head straight for…. Clothing section, Target have the best clothes.
In my next life I would like to come back as ….. probably ME, but this time I would have the heads up and I would do a much better job at being ME lol.
Your least favourite celebrity… I can't stand Jim Carey!
So now I think I have to tag someone so I'll tag Erica & Yvette. (thanks Tess that was Fun)

HAVE A HAPPY EASTER....
Today Sophie had her Easter Hat Parade that they do at school, the older 2 girls don't do Easter Hat's anymore (to old for that) and every other year when the other girls have had there parades I have gone up to the school to help them decorate there hats, but since were at a new school this year I didn't know what to expect and didn't get a note to say that they needed craft items (with the other girls we had to buy all that stuff) so just thought that maybe they didn't do Easter Hats at this school, but was told yesterday that the Easter Hat Parade was happening today, I asked Sophie if she had made a hat and she said YES I made it and decorated all by myself so I was interested to see how her creation turned out & she did a wonderful job - you can't really see all the detail in this photo because she stuck the ears on the front of the paper plate instead of the side & it kept flopping forward LOL but she had chocolate wrappers stuck on it, cotton wool and the most beautiful set of coloured in ears I was amazed at how good all the kids hats looked with different colours and ideas... they did there march around and it was so hard to get a decent photo with so many kids marching around but I was glad I got some good ones of the whole class before they went over to do there parade... I can't beleive it is the end of Term 1 already although I am really looking forward to the holidays, we aren't really going away anywhere there is so much that we need to do around the house & I have to get everything organised for Sophie's birthday next week (we are hiring a JUMPING CASTLE, which will be so much fun for the kids, I just hope it doesn't RAIN!) she absolutely loves Frangipanni's so we are going with that theme, we even found a Frangipanni Cake in one of my cake books so it will be good to have the kids home so they can help me out.
*********************************************************

OMG!!! Is this really my 11 year old daughter, she went out tonight with her friends to the movies and asked me to straighten her hair and I couldn't beleive how grown up she looks, which made me feel really old LOL! I am so NOT READY for this Stage but it just doesn't seem to wait until you are ready & I don't think I will ever be ready - it was just a taste of the things that I have look forward to over the next LOTS of years, she is not a girly, girly at all and my other two are Girly, Girl so I think I am going to go through lots of hair products, make-up, lipgloss & all that girly stuff.....
Well I just wanted to wish everyone a SAFE & HAPPY EASTER - if you are travelling please take care on the roads and ENJOY your time with YOUR LOVED ONES... hope the Easter Bunny brings you lots of choccies (I don't think he will bring me any this year as he knows I'm on a DIET, but I think I might sneak a few of the girls...... SSSSHHHHHHHH).

IT'S SO STINKING HOT HERE....
On the scrapping front I brought a kit from THE SCRAP HEAP last week, I'm not sure if it's once a month someone from the IT(Inspiration Team) puts together a kit and does 3 different projects you can complete with all the products needed to comlete the projects & instructions on how to complete the projects (it's a great idea) - this month the lovely CHRISSY BERRY has put together the prettiest kit, the Basic Grey papers are just so YUMMY and I completed my Mini Wooden Album and I just LOVE IT!! it looks perfect sitting on my window sill in my scrapping room.
Well I'm going to get back into some more scrapping, I just had to share - hope you are all having a fabulous weekend.

I AM ME

Monday, March 05, 2007
I HAVE BEEN....
* We went water skiing with our friends for the day yesterday - we had a great time but as always we come home absolutely exhasted and even though I kept applying sunscreen & zinc to the girls faces/arms/legs/shoulders they are all still a little bit pink, and everyone except me, who sat in the boat observing all day has sore muscles - everyone has so much fun but I thnk I am getting old because I just don't seem to find putting myself through that fun anymore, just watching them flying behind the boat on the tubes gives me sore arms LOL and watching my hubby barefoot makes me wonder how the hell that can be fun!!!
* Gardening - the kids, hubby & I have spent the last week doing some gardens in our new house that we moved into 4 months ago, it is so good to be able to do what you want and put things where you want but boy it takes time and lots of sweat (in this lovely Queensland weather) and money... sometimes I can see why people buy established homes already, because I want everything to look perfect NOW, but the bank balance just doesn't like that LOL.
* All three girls are doing dancing this year & I am out everyday except Thursday taking them there, it never happens that they could all dance on the same day or at least 2 of them at the same day, but I don't mind it gets me organised and out of the house in the afternoon's.
* Madison got selected to be in the Jump Rope For Heart skipping team this year and man can they do some things with a skipping rope - they practice 2 days a week in the lunch break and then on Thursday afternoons from 3-4pm... I have stayed and watched a few times and I think I might get a skipping rope and join in LOL, it is great for them and keeps them so active... Madi is also doing Violin at school this year and she seems to be enjoying it except she forgot to go to her lesson last week!
* Tahlia is geting ready for Year 7 camp next week and she has had her bag packed for it for the last week... very organised little Miss... she has also been selected for the school Netball Team which I'm very pleased about, I have never been 100% into sports that much and because I'm not into it (I wish I just really loved some form of exercise - hopefully if I start doing it out of habit I will start to like it) I've noticed that I've never really got my kids involved in a sport (bad, bad, mother).
* Sophie started Grade 1 this year and I thought that I would have heaps of times to do whatever but it seems that I'm filling in my days very quickly, she was very eager the first week but when she realised that she has to go to school everyday except the weekend the novality soon wore off, but she has settled down now and likes going to school and is a very good reader and I am amazed at how quickly she has learnt the 6 new sight words she comes home with every week - they learn so much in Grade 1 I forgot how much a jump from Preschool to Grade 1 it is... she has made lots of little friends and all the little boys say that she's her Girlfriend LOL.
* Me I have unpacked 8 boxed recently (very proud of myself) and Steve hung up my quilt rack and I have finally got my quilt hung up again and all my crafty stuff hung around the place and it is starting to look so much homey... scrapping I haven't done any in a while but I will get to it soon, seems to be too much other stuff to be done ATM... I have started going to Water Aerobics with my Aunty everyweek and I'm really enjoying it I didn't think that your body would get much of a work out but its been great.
* We went to get our shed organised today only to be told it would be 4 months until someone can do it which was a bit disheartening but we want to get the shed down before we can decided how big the pool can be... man I can't wait to get that pool, but I don't see that happening anytime soon, I hope we can have it in before Christmas this year FINGERS CROSSED.
Well that's been about it I think, I
will try and be a better Blogger but I think my life is pretty boring and who would want to read about it anyway, so if youv'e gotten this far good on you.
Catch Ya,
Raechel :)
