Dove has taken it upon themselves to try and redress the balance...
they start the ad with a statement...
"Only 1 percent of Australian women describe themselves as looking beautiful while 30 percent of Australian women describe themselves as average looking."
PLEASE!!!!! Tell me this isnt true.
really.. this statement makes my heart ache.
Not beautiful???? YOU?????
You are, you know.
and this is why I love this campaign.. because it is all about enabling women , and girls to see how "beautiful women come in all different shapes colours and sizes," and ages too.
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.
BELEIVE IT.

I think you are doing the right thing, stay strong and positive.I've had a daughter exactly the same and now i'm being punished with a son the same. I do exactly what you are doing, I dont nag anymore, i have become complacent and when he goes on and on, i just say OK..but WE ARE leaving at such and such a time, regardless of whether you are ready or not..once you've called their bluff about half a dozen times, it does sink in! the last 2 weeks, mr nearly 10 has been the first one ready for school AND his bag packed AND bed made!!!! ..so hang in there, if you have to take her to school in her jimjams, then do so, i've been known to dress the kids in the carpark because they wouldn't get dressed at home..YOUR NOT A BAD MUM..and if you want to crawl back into bed and hide..then do it!! the bed police wont come looking for you LOL..i've been known to do it on the odd occassion!!!
